To summarize my research, I have found that Brazil is very rich
in culture religion economy and tradition. Some of the areas that really stood
out to me were foods specific to different regions, the climate compared to
where I live, and how popular soccer is as a sport in
Brazil.
In the Northern region the Native Indians diet is mainly of fish
from the Amazon River. Their meals are high in salt because of how dry it is
there. I would not choose the Northern Region to eat because I don’t like my
food to be very salty. In the Eastern region, Portuguese immigrants brought
tapioca taco. I also would not choose this region because I don’t want to just
have pancakes all the time. In the Southern region, which is mostly European
immigrants, their diet consists of mostly meat. If I had to choose somewhere to
eat, I would pick the Southern region because I like to eat
meat.
The comparison of annual rainfall between Brazil and Fresno was
very great. The annual rainfall for Fresno is 11.23 inches and Brazil has 220
inches of rainfall this year. Most of Brazil is south of the equator, which
means the seasons will be opposite of the Northern Hemisphere. With Brazil being
so close to the equator, they don’t experience big changes in weather. If I had
to pick a place to be, I would choose Brazil because I want to know what it
feels like to be in Brazil. I already know what it feels like to be in
Fresno.
Soccer is not just a sport; it’s a way of life in Brazil. There have been
19 World Cup tournaments and Brazil has gone to all of them. Brazil has won 5
out of 19 World Cup tournaments. I am a big soccer fan. I’ve played soccer since
I was 5. I have watched most of the soccer matches during the 2010 World Cup and
Brazil is one of the teams I have watched closely. I think it is awesome that
most of the people in Brazil are passionate about soccer like I am. I am looking
forward to see what happens next year as the next World Cup 2014 will be played
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In closing, after I have learned a lot about Brazil, I hope to one day go visit
that wonderful country.
